1. The Accidental Voice Message

I was texting my friend about a private conversation we had earlier.

I typed out a long message explaining exactly what I thought about the situation.

Then I accidentally pressed the microphone button.

Instead of sending the message as text, my phone recorded me talking.

I didn't notice.

So I sent my friend a two-minute voice message of myself explaining everything.

Unfortunately, I had been sitting next to the person we were talking about.

Halfway through the recording, they looked at me and asked, “Who are you talking to?”

I froze.

Then my phone chimed.

Voice message sent.

I looked at the screen.

My only option was to hope technology had somehow developed a conscience.

It hadn't.

2. The “Okay” Problem

My friend sent me a long message explaining why he was upset.

I read the entire thing and replied:

“Okay.”

A few minutes later, he sent:

“That's all you have to say?”

I replied:

“Okay, sorry.”

That made things worse.

He said, “Are you even taking this seriously?”

I said, “Yes!”

Then I realized something.

Apparently, the word “okay” has about 47 different meanings depending on punctuation.

“Okay.” = angry.

“Okay!” = excited.

“Okay…” = suspicious.

“Okay?” = confused.

“Okay 😂” = probably not taking you seriously.

I finally sent:

“I understand. I'm sorry. Let's talk about it.”

He replied:

“Okay.”

I stared at the message.

Now I was the one who didn't know what it meant.

3. The Wrong Contact

I wanted to send my friend a message saying:

“I can't believe what happened today.”

I opened my contacts, selected a name, and pressed send.

A few seconds later, I received a reply:

“Who is this?”

I checked the number.

Wrong person.

I decided to politely explain that I had sent the message to the wrong contact.

So I typed:

“Sorry! Wrong person.”

Then I accidentally sent it to the same wrong person again.

They replied:

“I'm starting to feel like I'm the right person.”

At that point, I gave up.

I said:

“You know what? Maybe you are.”

We never figured out what happened.

But apparently, I had accidentally recruited a stranger into my personal life.
